2,463 commercial titles in England and Wales where control of the sale has passed to an administrator, a liquidator or a receiver. Someone other than the directors now decides a sale.
An administrator or a liquidator runs the company and can sell its property; a receiver appointed by a lender can sell the property the charge covers. The directors no longer decide. Office holders must seek the best price reasonably obtainable, and can agree a sale privately when an offer meets it.
